Ibn Haldun University Career Center and Balat Psychology jointly organized the online event titled "From Graduation to the Field: A Roadmap for Mental Health Professionals" on June 20, 2025, with broad participation. The program, designed for students and recent graduates pursuing a career in mental health, brought together over 100 participants.
The event was moderated by Dr. Ayşe Şafak, Academic Career Advisor at Ibn Haldun University Career Center and faculty member of the Psychology Department, and Prof. Dr. Sefa Bulut from the Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PDR) Department. PDR graduate student Niyazi Cem Ödemiş and undergraduate student Melike Kartal served as assistant moderators. Guest speakers included Psychological Counselor Ayşenur Ak and Clinical Psychologist Sevde Erdem from Balat Psychology. Attendees consisted of Psychology and PDR students and graduates from universities in Turkey and abroad.
The program covered various topics, including the dynamics of professional life in mental health, challenges faced by newcomers, essential skills for growth, and effective career planning. Speakers shared their professional experiences, offering candid and insightful guidance to participants.
At the end of the event, participants expressed feeling more equipped to take informed steps in their careers and requested similar programs in the future. Such initiatives by the Career Center reflect Ibn Haldun University’s commitment to supporting its students and graduates in their academic and professional development.
