Career Journey from an Alumni Perspective: The Al Jazeera Experience
At the event held at Ibn Haldun University, alumnus Hasan Hadri shared his career journey with students and alumni through his experiences at Al Jazeera Media Network, TRT, and the media sector. The event addressed key topics such as artificial intelligence, combating disinformation, verification processes, and career planning in the media field.

The event titled “From the Career Path: Alumni Perspectives – The Al Jazeera Experience” was organized in collaboration with the Career Center, operating under the Department of Strategy and Resource Development at Ibn Haldun University, and the IHU Alumni and Members Association (HalduniDer).

Held at the Academic Hall in the Student Center, the event hosted Hasan Hadri, a 2022 graduate of the Sociology Department at Ibn Haldun University and a master’s student in New Media and Communication. During the event, Hasan Hadri shared his experiences regarding his role as Engagement Team Lead at Al Jazeera Media Network, his professional journey at TRT, and his career path in the media sector.

In his talk, Hadri offered valuable insights into the role of artificial intelligence in combating disinformation, post-conflict media ecosystems, and verification processes. As one of the co-founders of Kashaf, a Syria-based verification and OSINT initiative, Hadri also shared his experience in designing artificial intelligence training programs for newsrooms, academics, and research teams, as well as his work at the intersection of journalism, academic research, and next-generation artificial intelligence tools.

Throughout the event, students and alumni had the opportunity to gain important insights from an alumni perspective on career planning in the media sector, working in international media organizations, artificial intelligence-supported journalism practices, and professional development. At the end of the event, participants had an interactive experience by asking Hasan Hadri their questions during the Q&A session.

As part of the program, a Kahoot quiz competition was also held to encourage active participation, and small surprise prizes were presented to the winners.

Organized in collaboration with the Ibn Haldun University Career Center and HalduniDer, the event aimed to strengthen interaction between students and alumni, bring alumni experiences together with students, and raise awareness of career journeys in different sectors.
