Why did you choose Ibn Haldun University?
I chose Ibn Haldun University because of its scholarship schemes. It funds international students at many different levels. However, after I joined Ibn Haldun University, I found that it also has many renowned faculties who are very passionate about research. This provided me with an opportunity to learn and practice various research methods and strategies. The courses taught throughout 4 years were on par with universities from US or Europe which I am experiencing right now.
What are the contributions of Ibn Haldun University to your student life and your career after graduation?
In my current PHD program in Sociology at Louisiana State university, I can strongly feel that Ibn Haldun university provided me with a strong theoretical background. When I compete with students from different countries, I do not feel that I am lagging behind. In my 4th year, I had to write a graduation thesis that helped me to shape my research objectives. When I was applying for postgraduate studies abroad, I received all the necessary help such as recommendation letters, statement of purpose and so on. During the 4-years I spent at Ibn Haldun University, I had an amazing time there, made many friends from different countries and most importantly, I was exposed to different cultures and traditions. I was taught 2 languages: Turkish and Arabic, widening my opportunities in the process.
